When I found out I was pregnant, it was May 2015. I was in a new relationship with a man I’d known almost 10yrs. We were happy and planning a life together. I was very nervous because I wasn’t sure that I was really ready to have another child, but also a little excited because the pregnancy was planned. I really wanted to be married before I had another child, and I stressed that to him, but I was willing to go along with it because I loved this man, and I thought you had to compromise in relationships. He also promised me that we’d be married before the baby came. Shortly after I found out I was pregnant, I had to call the relationship off with my ex, he started to get very aggressive with me, and I also just felt like something wasn’t right, and that he was not as committed, or faithful, as he stated he was.
The only person that I felt I could talk to, was my advocate at the Keim Center. She truly showed her love for the Lord through her actions and her words. My advocate introduced me to the parenting classes offered, that not only gave valuable, Christian based parenting lessons, but also provided an opportunity to earn baby bucks, which could then be redeemed for needed baby items. Because I was able to come to the Keim Center and was introduced to the caring advocates, I have actually become stronger in my walk with the Lord, my son and I read our bible together more than we ever have, and come up with new ways to pray together.
Then, there was the ultrasound. I was a bit nervous at first, but overall, I was overcome with joy. After seeing my baby during my ultrasound, I didn’t really feel like I could or even wanted to, go through with an abortion. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Zoey. She’s a very happy, playful 12 month old little girl. She’s very strong and full of spunk and personality. I thank God for such a beautiful blessing. Since visiting the Keim Centers, I feel like I’ve grown stronger in my faith and my walk with God. Things aren’t perfect, but I’m in a much better place in my life. In my situation alone, the Keim Centers helped save multiple lives: my daughters’ and even my own.
