A Story of Hope

Alexis’s Story

“Knowing my baby was OK, and that God chose me to be his mother, has formed me into the woman that I always aspired to be.”

When I first found out I was pregnant, I didn’t know if I could raise a baby in the world we live in today. Not graduating college yet, not having my own home, and not being in a committed relationship were all things running through my head as I stared at the positive pregnancy test.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t consider abortion. All I knew about abortion was it took away a baby that God had given me. I believe babies are a gift from God, so who was I to give away such a gift? Still, I couldn’t find the courage to tell my family or friends, since I was undecided regarding my decision to keep my baby.

I found CPC’s pregnancy medical clinic through a friend that had visited them before. The atmosphere was very calming and welcoming, and I instantly knew I was in a safe space. I remember talking to my patient advocate before my ultrasound and telling her all the emotions and feelings running through my head.

Then came time for my ultrasound. I didn’t know how to feel during the process. When it showed a healthy baby with a healthy heartbeat, I walked out feeling so good. Knowing my baby was OK, and that God chose me to be his mother, has formed me into the woman that I always aspired to be.

CPC has been a tremendous help to me during my pregnancy and even after. Taking the parenting classes and learning ways to keep my baby, and even myself, healthy was so beneficial to us. Earning Baby Bucks and getting essential items for my baby was so helpful!

To this day, Noah uses the clothes, diapers, bath items, socks, hats, blankets, wipes, etc., that were given to us. I don’t know what I would have done without CPC. They helped us grow and become closer to God and to feel safe knowing I made the right decision on keeping my baby.

Today, I can say I am a very happy mom and love the family I created. I give all thanks to God, family, and CPC’s pregnancy medical clinics.
