He helps me
Jordyn didn’t know how she was going to raise a baby, but she has learned that God helps us in time of need.
Life has so many unexpected changes, and at times we don’t even know how to navigate those changes, especially when things come upon you without any notice.
For me, finding out that I was pregnant at 18 years old was a moment I will never forget. I was filled with so many emotions—excitement, sadness, anxiety, fear, and disappointment.
I had a big decision to make: Would I keep my baby, or would I terminate my pregnancy? I did contemplate terminating my pregnancy with hopes that no one would find out. I wouldn’t disappoint my family, and my life wouldn’t have a major change.
I found CPC’s pregnancy medical clinics online, and, when I went, I was still undecided about what the best decision would be for me. However, that day I saw my baby on the ultrasound was such an emotional day for me. She was only the size of a tadpole, but I knew at that moment I had to keep her.
I didn’t know how I was going to do it, but I knew I could never move forward in life if I was the reason she never got the chance to experience life.
A few months later, I started attending Great Expectations parenting classes. Going every Thursday was the highlight of my week. Being around other women who were preparing for their baby and being encouraged by the staff who had similar experiences was very comforting.
We all need community, especially young mothers. I honestly can’t imagine what I would have done without those classes. My daughter is four months old, and I am still using the diapers that I received.
It is still very challenging being a mother. I have had to repeatedly talk to God, and I still do. He has helped me in unimaginable ways. He helps me to be a good mother and provides for me and my daughter. I know with confidence that He will always make sure that we have what we need.
Thank you to CPC for your kindness and support!
