‘Being a mom is the best’

Aylin is thankful her boyfriend found CPC’s pregnancy medical clinics online. She says, “I would regret my decision if I’d had an abortion because I love her so much. … I think being a mom is the best.”

Aylin and her boyfriend, Jaden, were together for a couple of years when she found out she was pregnant. “I was in a very emotional state,” she says. “I didn’t really know what to do.”

With Jaden about to leave for military service, Aylin didn’t want to be alone and was undecided about whether she wanted to proceed with the pregnancy. “Even though I have my family and his family, I just didn’t want to be alone without him.”

She asked Jaden to search online for nearby clinics, and he found CPC’s pregnancy medical clinics. He scheduled an appointment for the next day.

“The lady there was very nice, very open,” Aylin remembers. “I told her about my position and everything that was going on in my life at that time.” It was too early to see Aylin’s baby on the ultrasound screen, so the nurse encouraged her to come back for another appointment. They also shared with Aylin about what abortion entailed. “It’s scary to go through an abortion. I was like, I don’t know if I’m capable of doing that.”

She continues, “Going to these appointments made me realize I would like to have her. … Going to CPC and having [Jaden’s support], I decided to keep her even though he was leaving.”

Jaden left for military service a few weeks later, but, in a turn of events, he was injured and sent home just a month later. “Even though it sucked that he was leaving this part of his journey, I was so excited,” remembers Aylin. “I’m like, ‘I’m getting bigger now, so you can be here for me.’ It was a blessing in disguise.”

The couple attended both quarters of CPC’s Great Expectations parenting classes. “I really liked them,” she shares. “They gave us a lot of gifts—clothes, diapers, utensils, toys—so it was very nice. … The classes reassured me with things.”

Aylin says she’s very thankful that Jaden came across CPC. “Seeing her now as a little human, I would regret my decision if I’d had an abortion because I love her so much. … I think being a mom is the best.”
