Seeing the ultrasound made me think, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s a baby.’

Treasurea had scheduled an appointment with Planned Parenthood but then chose LIFE after she saw her baby on the ultrasound. Find out how God used CPC to change her heart. Read and watch her story below.

Before I found out I was pregnant, everything was smooth—living my life with my children, working just one job. I found out at work in the bathroom, and it was shocking because I already have four other children.

My first instinct was to get an abortion. I’m getting older, and starting over wasn’t in my book. I rescheduled my first appointment with Planned Parenthood more than once. In between, I was going to CPC, but I was still unsure if I wanted to keep the baby or not. That’s why I kept making appointments and then rescheduling them.

It was when I saw the ultrasound at CPC that I changed my mind. When I saw the ultrasound, it made me think, “Oh my gosh, it’s a baby.” Something felt different—love, compassion.

With CPC, it wasn’t just that they wanted me to come in, give me some information, rush me off, and tell me to go home. They were like my therapists. We cried together. She told me, “Things happen for a reason, and I’m glad you came here.” She prayed with me and gave me resources.

When I decided to keep him, they told me about the parenting classes. One of the classes that meant a lot to me was when they talked about how it is after the child comes, and how sometimes things can be frustrating for us, and you’ve just got to be patient.

When we attended the classes, they gave us Baby Bucks, and we got to order baby blankets, bottles, diapers, etc. Those were the things that were necessary for me, especially as a single mom with four other children and bringing a newborn into the picture. It really helped.

That’s something you’re not going to see in other places. Like I said, other people just give you paperwork, … but CPC—they actually help you; they actually listen to you—the classes, the women—that is something that matters.
